Successuful training of international welding specialists at ifw Jena
Every year ifw Jena offers part-time training to become an international welding specialist according to DVS guideline 1170. From November to April, classes are held on Friday afternoons and Saturday mornings. In this way, the extensive training can be completed parallel to everyday work.In 2022/23, eight participants took up the challenge and were trained as international welding specialists at the institute. In over 300 practical and theoretical training units, the participants acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to take on responsibility for the supervision and quality assurance of welding work as a welding specialist in their company.The lessons are carried out by employees from the respective research areas of ifw Jena. In addition to their technical knowledge, the colleagues can pass on a lot of their experience and thus optimally support the participants in acquiring the necessary knowledge.In April 2023, the final exams finally took place for all participants. In four written and several oral exams, they qualified as welding specialists.All participants passed their exams and can now take on tasks as welding coordinators.
The next training will start at November 3 2023
